Sunday the 5th of October, our amazing Registered Manager, Cerys, took part in the Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for Cardiff City Hospice!
Cerys showed incredible dedication and determination throughout her training and on race day, all in support of such a meaningful cause. She not only hit her fundraising target of £500, but went above and beyond, raising an amazing £1,006 in total!
Her commitment to making a difference both inside and outside of work truly inspires us all. A huge well done to Cerys for this fantastic achievement, and thank you for representing Bluebird Care Cardiff and The Vale, and supporting a charity that provides vital care and comfort to those in our community.
Here is what Cerys and Lynne had to say about this amazing achievement.

So, a week has gone by since completing the Cardiff Half Marathon and what an achievement that was. This time last year I couldn’t even run 5km let alone 21km. I spent 4 months training for the Cardiff Half. The training was intense and gruelling at times but every time it got tough, I had to remind myself the reason why I signed up in the first place. The first 12km of the run was great, the atmosphere was euphoric and I thoroughly enjoyed this bit. Although at 13km mark my knees and hips wanted to give up (my mind never faltered) I had to slow right down and it got really difficult as I neared the end of the run as my legs just did not want to go any further. I ploughed on and when I turned that last corner and seen the finish line, I was flying. To have my coach and work team there cheering for me at the end really made the world of difference. We have now raised just over £1000 for the wonderful charity that is City Hospice and I could not be prouder of this journey. I also cannot thank everyone enough who donated their hard earned money to raise the funds that we have… all I had to do was go for a run!
