At Bluebird Care Central Bedfordshire, we know a career in care can be life-changing — not only for the people we support, but for our team too. Many join us with no prior experience and, with the right training and encouragement, go on to build rewarding careers. One of our team members has done just that, growing from Care Expert to Care Coordinator over an incredible 13 years — a journey that shows what’s possible with dedication and support.

At Bluebird Care Central Bedfordshire, we are incredibly proud of the people who make up our team — their dedication, compassion, and commitment to providing the very best care. One inspiring example is the journey of one of our long-serving team members, who has been with us for over 13 years.

Starting out in care

“I started as a Care Expert, unsure of what to expect as I had never worked in care before. I remember thinking to myself, am I going to enjoy this role? But after just one week, I knew I’d found something truly rewarding. Helping people in their daily lives — and supporting their families too — gave me a real sense of purpose and pride.”

Progression and development

From those early days, it quickly became clear that this was more than just a job. Progressing to the role of Senior Care Expert, she gained new skills, worked closely with supervisors, and developed a deeper understanding of care. Alongside this, she completed her Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Adult Social Care, which she describes as an experience she “loved doing.”

Taking on new challenges

The journey didn’t stop there. Moving into an Area Supervisor role, and most recently becoming a Care Co-ordinator, she has embraced each new challenge. These roles have allowed her to broaden her knowledge, gain new skills, and see “what happens behind the scenes” — from supporting customers directly to working with other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of care.

A supportive place to grow

Reflecting on her journey, she says:

Bluebird Care is a supportive and understanding company to work for, and I never thought I would still be here 13 years later. The company has helped me grow in confidence and knowledge within the care sector, and I feel privileged to have been given the opportunities I have.

Why stories like this matter

Stories like this highlight what makes Bluebird Care Central Bedfordshire special: our people. With the right support and encouragement, anyone with compassion and dedication can build a truly rewarding career in care.

We are proud to have such committed individuals on our team, and we look forward to celebrating many more success stories in the future.
