Compassionate Care at Home – Tailored Support Across Cheltenham, Gloucester & Tewkesbury
Our Director’s Commitment to Quality and Compassionate Care
I have always been a perfectionist and a problem solver. When I moved into Domiciliary Care, I could see straight away that there were many challenges facing the Homecare industry, all of which led to a very poor experience for the people who count – the customers, and their families.
We have spent 15 years meeting those challenges head-on, and in that time, we have revolutionised the way people receive care at home.
I would never be so bold as to say we are the best home care agency in Stroud and Cirencester, but I will provide the details of our service, to help you make an informed decision in your search for excellent healthcare at home.
In any business, you must strive to be either the cheapest, or the best. I’ve never aspired to being described as the cheapest!
- Gareth Powick
Director at Bluebird Care Cheltenham, Gloucester & Tewkesbury and Stroud & Cirencester
Our Homecare Teams
From live-in care to respite care, our care at home services are extensive. Our team of carers are selected for their empathy and kindness, as well as their work ethic, skills and communication. We select and retain only the best staff by offering amazing pay and conditions. During our 13-week induction program, we carefully observe each new home carer at work to ensure that they are meeting the standard that you deserve. Each home carer will then choose a specialism to study so they can further contribute to the performance of the team, such as dementia specialists.

Clinical Upskilling
Clinical upskilling gives a carer an enhanced understanding of nutrition and hydration needs, fall prevention, stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, diabetes, recognising deterioration and end-of-life care. This one-year course is delivered by NHS trainers and will ensure all of a person's physical health needs are met while making sure wellness is proactively maintained.

Dementia Care
Our team of dementia specialists have gone through a dementia care program that is widely recognised for its excellence. This means they are well-equipped to help those experiencing memory problems continue to live a well-rounded, safe and fulfilling lifestyle.

End-of-Life
Our Palliative Care specialists will be able to support you with all of your physical healthcare needs, and will have the time to talk with you about whatever you want, and to spend time with your family or friends too, if they need support or advice. They will get to know you well, and be able to recognize small changes in your well-being.

Holistic Wellbeing
Our Wellbeing specialists are dedicated to finding ways for our customers to get the most enjoyment out of life, especially under challenging circumstances. We can arrange one-off events through our SMILE campaign, but our real specialism is helping people find regular activities which will bring some joy into their lives.
Our Customer Service
Visit Times
Because we deal with complex healthcare issues, and will never leave a customer who needs more assistance, some fluctuation in call times is inevitable. We will normally agree a target visit time with you when you first commission home help services from us, unless there are special exceptions. The service that we promise to provide is that we will not deviate by more than 30 minutes from that target time, and that you will always know in advance what the exact time we will arrive will be.
Communication
We will always make you aware of changes, and if you need to you will always be able to speak to someone straight away, from the hours of 7 am to 10pm. If you want, care notes can be shared to chosen people as they are written, enabling family members or healthcare professionals to stay informed in real-time. If you need to make any changes to your homecare, someone will be on hand to help make those changes straight away.
