We are delighted to share that Kirsti Mace and Leah Summer, two outstanding members of the Bluebird Care Cheltenham, Gloucester & Tewkesbury team, have both been named winners at the Bluebird Care Awards 2025.
This prestigious annual event recognises excellence, dedication, and compassion across the Bluebird Care network — and we are incredibly proud that our local team members have received national recognition for their exceptional work.
Kirsti Mace – Winner, Team Player of the Year | |

Her drive, dedication, and talent quickly saw her take on more responsibility, progressing to a full-time role in the office and ultimately to her current position as Lead Supervisor. Kirsti is known for giving 110% every day. She is highly organised, meticulous, and deeply committed to the people we support. She leads with humility and integrity and is both a respected colleague and an inspiring mentor. Kirsti plays a vital role in maintaining our Gold Standard Framework statistics and was instrumental in achieving GSF accreditation for both our franchises. She also delivers training to new and existing staff, having developed into a confident and accomplished manual handling trainer. As the first face many of our new customers meet, Kirsti plays a crucial role in building trusted relationships through her comprehensive assessments and personalised approach. Her completion of the Gloucestershire Dementia Link Award has further enabled her to deliver truly person-centred care plans for individuals living with dementia. We are thrilled that Kirsti’s tireless efforts and remarkable dedication have been recognised on a national level. |
Leah Summer – Winner, Customer Care Award | |

Her approach to care is marked by empathy, initiative, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of the people she supports. One powerful example of Leah’s work involved supporting a customer living with Alzheimer’s who had become isolated and anxious about leaving her home. Recognising a desire to reconnect with her past and community, Leah arranged a visit to a local garden centre alongside the customer’s friend. The experience helped rebuild confidence and ultimately set the customer on a path back to attending her beloved Quaker meetings — first at home, and soon again in her local community. This life-enhancing change was the direct result of Leah’s compassion, thoughtful planning, and dedication. Leah’s ability to listen, understand, and act in a way that restores independence and dignity is truly inspiring, and we are so proud of her achievement. |
