Bertie’s Sensory Room Adventure!
I met my special fren Vicki at the Sensory Room under my office and let me tell you — I’ve sniffed many places in my time, but this one was something else!
First stop? The Bubble Tubes.
Oh, the bubbles! Glowing, floating, teasing me through that clear barrier. Just when I was ready to chase the blue ones — BAM! They changed colour! Not fair. And no matter how hard I stared at them, they refused to stay still. Suspicious behaviour, if you ask me.
Then there was this strange thing on the floor that kept changing whenever I stepped on it. Lights! Colours! Splats and fish swimming under my paws?! I tried to stay calm — I’m a professional Support Dog, after all — but it’s hard when your feet are doing one thing and the floor’s doing another.
At one point, Vicki (my bestest human pal) tried to give me a treat for being a Good Boy. But as I trotted over, the floor turned into a pond! I didn’t know whether to fetch the treat or dive for cover. My poor snoot was very confused, especially when I went to hoover up the crumbs and they disappeared into the floor. (Luckily I was very brave and managed to find them all!)
I did quite enjoy the squishy gel mats though — cool, wobbly, and with little blobs that moved when I pressed my paws down. I give those 10/10 paw points.
This place is really special. It’s calm, peaceful, and full of clever things that help people feel safe, happy, and in control.
Whether someone finds the world overwhelming, needs a quiet place to focus, or just wants to relax — this is a wonderful space.
I might not understand everything that goes on in the Sensory Room…
…but if it helps my human friends feel as good as I did when I left — tail wagging, head high, and full of biscuits — then I think everyone should give it a go.
Love,
Bertie x
