Both joined us back in 2013, when Bluebird Care was still in its early days, working from our original Clacton office. Together, they’ve been part of the journey that’s shaped who we are today, helping to lay the foundations that supported the growth of our Colchester & Tendring service. They’ve worked alongside generations of staff and seen the organisation change and evolve — always doing their bit to keep things running smoothly.
Calm, organised and always ready to help, Caroline has been the person every carer turned to — whether it was a new uniform, PPE, or anything our staff have needed to deliver care in the community. Her warmth and good sense of humour will be hard to replace.
Chris has always been a straight-talking coordinator and a steady presence behind the rota, quietly looking after everyone, whether that be our carers, customers or Bertie. His bed, dribble rag, and drawer full of treats were always ready, thanks to Chris’s constant care. He’s going to miss her dearly — as did our old Labrador, Henry, who always found a friend in her.
Both Chris and Caroline have become part of the fabric of Bluebird Care — and while we are sad to see them go, we are incredibly grateful for everything they’ve contributed over the past 12 years.
Chris, we’ll miss hearing “Alexa, play Heart Radio” echoing through the office (even if the rest of us had other musical preferences!).
To everyone out in the field, we'll leave you with some of Chris's most famous catchphrases... Enjoy!
‘As a one off!’
‘Two more pay days to xmas’
‘Christmas is coming and the turkey’s getting fat!!’
To Chris and Caroline — thank you for everything. We wish you all the very best and every success in whatever comes next. You will always be part of the Bluebird family.
