Your Journey, Your Way: Compassionate Home Care that grows with you.
When you think about care, what comes to mind? For many people, it's helping someone get out of bed, shower, or prepare a meal and yes -we are here for that. However, care is so much more than just the essentials. It can be someone popping in for a chat, helping with the housework, or offering a reassuring arm on a walk to the shops.
At Bluebird Care Dudley, Kidderminster & Malvern, we believe home care is about supporting you, wherever you are on your journey - from needing just a little help now and then, to more consistent or complex support down the line. We are here to offer flexible, friendly, and expert care that fits around your life, not the other way around.
What is Home Care?
Home care simply means receiving support in the comfort and familiarity of your own home. It could be for you, or for a loved one you want to help stay safe and independent.
The beauty of home care is that it's completely flexible. Whether you need an hour here and there, or someone living with you full-time, our care services are tailored to suit your needs - both now and in the future.
Support that changes with you
You might start with light support - perhaps help around the house, changing the bed, or a friendly face to go for a walk with. But if your needs change, we can be right there with you.
That’s what sets us apart – we are with you for the whole journey. If, in time, you need help getting dressed, taking medication, preparing meals, or even overnight support - we’ll be there, no need to switch providers or start over with strangers. You’ll already know and trust our team.
Types of Home Care
1. Visiting Care
Visiting care means one of our friendly care professionals pops in at agreed times, whether that’s once a week or several times a day. This is perfect for:
- Helping with the morning routine (getting up, dressed, breakfast made)
- Support at lunchtime or dinnertime
- Medication reminders
- Housework or shopping
- Just having someone to talk to
Many people start here, even just a visit or two a week, and adjust as needed.
If your needs require two care professionals (for example, help with hoisting), we can arrange that too. Everything is tailored to you.
2. Live-in care
Live-in care offers support from a care professional who lives with you in your home. This is ideal if you:
- Need more frequent or flexible help
- Feel reassured by having someone always nearby
- Want companionship and consistency
- Have complex or long-term care needs
Live-in care also allows for greater freedom with routines - no fixed visit times, just support when and how you need it.
What does it cost?
Care costs vary depending on what kind of help you need, how often, and whether you require overnight or live-in support. For example:
- Visiting care is charged by the hour.
- Live-in care is charged by the week and usually costs between £1500 - £1800 per week.
Overnight care can also vary – it costs less if the carer can sleep, but if they need to be awake and on hand, it will cost the same as a day shift (understandably, as they are working throughout the night).
We are always transparent about our prices and will guide you through all the options and whatever option you go for all our care comes with our Health and Wellbeing checks at no extra cost to you.
Funding Home Care
Paying for care can feel daunting, but there is support out there.
If your savings are below £23,250, you may be eligible for local authority funding. There are two main options:
- The council arranges care for you
- You receive direct payments, so you can choose your provider (and even top it up if you would like more than the basic care package)

We can also refer you to a SOLLA (Society of Later Life Accredited) advisor to help navigate financial planning for care, whether it’s short-term or long-term support.
