We were honoured to host a truly memorable and moving presentation this week from our very own Head of Finance, Ray, and his granddaughter Lyra.
Ray, who is an honorary member of the Normandy Veterans Association, shared powerful and personal reflections on his long-standing connection to the veterans' community. His stories offered a heartfelt glimpse into the legacy of those who served and the importance of remembering their bravery and sacrifice.
Adding to this poignant tribute, Lyra gave a wonderful reading from The Last Secret Agent: The Extraordinary Story of a WW2 Spy in Her Own Words by Pippa Latour. The book tells the story of one of the most remarkable female spies of the Second World War, and Lyra’s reading brought the narrative to life with clarity and emotion.
It was a privilege to hear both Ray’s memories and Lyra’s thoughtful contribution. Together, they reminded us all of the enduring power of storytelling and the importance of keeping these vital histories alive for future generations.
