Candi Wigmore
Candi’s journey into care began early. At just 13 years old, she became a young carer for her nan, supporting with personal care, nutrition, hydration, and offering companionship in the evenings so her nan was never alone. At 15, she completed work experience in a care home and discovered a real passion for supporting others.
After becoming a young mum, Candi spent several years working in cleaning and part-time factory roles while raising her family. At 22, she joined Vista (The Society for the Blind), working in a day centre for elderly people with visual impairments. She loved the role and remained there for three years, until becoming a full-time stay-at-home mum after the birth of her third child. During this time, all three of her children were diagnosed with autism and ADHD, and Candi dedicated the next ten years to supporting their needs.
When the time was right, Candi returned to care. She quickly built strong relationships with her customers and felt deeply connected to her role, confident she had made the right decision. When the company she worked for restructured and her care round ended, Candi joined Bluebird Care
At Bluebird Care, Candi thrived as a care assistant, but her desire to do more led her to apply for the Care Coordinator role. After her interview, she was offered the position of Customer Supervisor, a perfect fit that allows her to stay involved with customers while also helping to plan and manage the care they receive.
Since stepping into the role, Candi hasn’t looked back. She loves being able to support customers not only in person but also through thoughtful, well-organised care planning. Her personal experience and passion for making a difference shine through in everything she does.
