We pride ourselves on going above and beyond for those we care for – and recently, that meant taking to the skies! Our dedicated team members, Sinead and Gemma, undertook a thrilling 12,000-foot skydive in support of the Alzheimer’s Society, raising an impressive £1,400 for the charity.
Soaring to New Heights for a Great Cause
This once-in-a-lifetime experience wasn’t just about adrenaline and adventure. It was about making a real impact on the lives of those affected by dementia, a condition that touches so many of our customers and their families. By teaming up with the Alzheimer’s Society, Bluebird Care continues to show its commitment to both the people we care for and the wider community.
Sinead summed up the day perfectly:
“Taking Bluebird Care 12,000 feet up in the sky was amazing. Between us, we raised over £1,400 for Alzheimer’s Society, which is something we and our carers deal with every day. Giving something back made it all the more worthwhile.”
For Gemma, the experience was not only a way to raise funds but also an unforgettable moment shared with those who matter most:
“It was an amazing day, shared with family and friends who came out to support us. We raised a huge amount of money and got to do something that’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The skydive was equal parts terrifying and exciting – my poor instructor may still hear me screaming!”
While the skydive was undoubtedly a daunting challenge, both Sinead and Gemma were inspired by the support they received from their families, friends, and the wider Bluebird Care community. That support helped them soar through their fears and, most importantly, raised crucial funds for a cause close to their hearts.
As the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity, the Alzheimer’s Society plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families affected by dementia. Many of our customers face the challenges of dementia, and our team works closely with them and their families every day. Supporting the Alzheimer’s Society is our way of giving back and contributing to their essential work.
This skydive is just one of the many ways we’re raising awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. We’re thrilled with the success of this event, but we’re not stopping here!
