Our senior care team are dedicated group of care professionals, dedicated to providing premium care in Northallerton, Thirsk and Catterick.

Get to know a little more about the team working hard behind the scenes insuring we deliver the best quality and most reliable home care in the region. Home care is our passion and at Bluebird Care we are always striving to deliver a best-in-class service to all of our customers. Together with our fantastic team of care experts, our head office team are constantly working together to maintain our exceptionally high standards of care.

Our directors

Our two co-directors are extremely proud of their family company which has been running since 2013. We strive to ensure that our fantastic care team deliver exceptional home and live-in care, focused on the individual needs of each customer. The quality of our service has always been paramount, and our company has been rated good in every area by the CQC, in every single inspection. We believe in valuing and rewarding our staff, and as of 2025, the majority of our staff have been with us for three years or more, some over ten years.

Our two co-directors are extremely proud of their family company which has been running since 2013. We strive to ensure that our fantastic care team deliver exceptional home and live-in care, focused on the individual needs of each customer. Heather Price, Director

A graduate of Manchester University, Heather spent many years in senior management roles within the public sector before co-founding the company with Sean in 2013. She was driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, particularly within the local community. Away from work, Heather enjoys spending time with her family and keeping active. In 2018, she completed the London Marathon, raising over £2,500 for the Institute for Cancer Research in London.

Sean Price, Director

Sean graduated from Cambridge University and, like Heather, built a career in senior public sector leadership prior to setting up the company in 2013. He was motivated by a shared commitment to creating positive change through high-quality care services. Outside the office, Sean enjoys family life and is a keen sports enthusiast, both as a spectator and participant.

Our management team are dedicated to providing excellent service to our customers, and dedicated support to our senior care team and fantastic carers. All of our Management Team are qualified in NVQ Health Social Care, Levels 3-5. Our registered manager receives regular support and bespoke training from our Regional Quality Manager. Our Training and Live-in Care Manager has Train the Trainer and dementia qualifications, and over ten years of experience in delivering high-quality live-in care.

Lauren Smith, Registered Manager

Lauren started her career with Bluebird Care in 2017 as a care assistant. After 18 months she progressed and gained a promotion to Field Care Supervisor in 2018 before becoming the Care Coordinator in 2021. Lauren has since become the Registered Manager and recently passed her Registered Managers Interview with CQC the day before her 24th Birthday. For Lauren, building close relationships with our care assistants and enabling customers to remain at home for as long as possible is the most rewarding part of her role. Lauren always knew that she wanted to work in the care industry and support the elderly and vulnerable since caring for relatives when she was younger. Lauren has completed her Level 3 Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care and Level 2 Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health and Lauren is now completing her Level 5 Apprenticeship in Leadership and Management in Adult Care. Lauren is extremely family orientated and loves spending time with her 1-year-old daughter Annie.

Jules Tatham

Jules Tatham, Live-in Care & Training Manager

Jules has worked in nursing and health care for over 10 years. Having joined Bluebird Care when the company started in December 2014, Jules has worked her way up the ladder from care assistant to supervisor and now to her current role as our Training and Live-in Care Manager. Jules finds it a great joy to see the newly trained care assistants grow and develop to support our customers from the comfort of their own homes. Jules has Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care and Train the Trainer qualifications in Medication Management, Moving and Handing and first aid. Jules has been managing our premium live in care service for over ten years and is extremely passionate about helping people stay safely in their own homes, rather than having to go into a care home. This is particularly the case with customers living with dementia and other serious health conditions, who benefit greatly from the routine and familiarity of staying in their own home with the reassurance of 24/7 support. Outside of work Jules loves looking after and caring for her garden.

Our experienced senior care team have a hybrid role, dividing their time between the office and working out in the community, providing hands-on support to our customers and care team. They are dedicated to ensuring the highest possible standards of customer care, carrying out detailed customer assessments and reviews, together with carer supervisions and spot checks.

Megan Smith, Deputy Manager & Care Co-ordinator

Megan joined the Bluebird Care team in January 2022 as a care assistant, Megan quickly progressed to flex care assistant, then to Field Care Supervisor in June 2022, recently promoted to deputy manager in June 2025. Megan has worked in the care sector for over 5 years and has vast knowledge and experience of care after working as a senior care assistant in a care home, gaining valuable experience. Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with her little boy, Noah.

Alanna Gordon, Field Care Supervisor

Alanna joined Bluebird Care in 2021 as a care assistant and was promoted to Field care supervisor in 2022. She enjoys supporting customers to remain at home and building relationships with the care staff. Alanna has always wanted to work in care and has completed her level 2 and 3 Diploma in Adult care and is studying for her level 4 in management. Alanna has over 8 years of experience in nursing and community care. Outside of work, Alanna enjoys painting, reading, and spending time with her family.

Bluebird Care Beryl

Beryl Armitage, Supervisor

Beryl joined Bluebird care in June 2025. Beryl is the Field Care Supervisor for the Stokesley, Northallerton, Thirsk and Easingwold area. Beryl has over 8 years' experience in care. Beryl started off as a carer, then progressed to become a senior carer, team leader and then a unit manager. Beryl loves playing bingo with her friends and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Our admin, finance and recruitment team are an integral part of our company, and always seek to deliver excellent service to our customers, whilst also supporting the needs of both new and existing carers. The team pride themselves in being efficient, flexible and approachable. When recruiting the team take a value-based approach, to ensure that our staff always deliver person-centred care.

Kendra Travis, Finance and Payroll Administrator

With over 20 years’ experience working in Finance and Accounts, Kendra joined us at Bluebird Care in March 2019 as our Finance and Payroll officer. Having lived locally for 20 years, Kendra loves to travel as much as possible with her family and cannot wait to go on more adventures soon. Matt has worked in the care industry for 8 years.

Matt Colbourne, Recruitment and Admin Officer

Matt started his career as a care assistant and worked in that role for around 6 years, then progressing into a coordinator role. Matt spent about a year in a coordinator role then joined Bluebird Care in his current role as a Recruitment and Admin Officer in May 2022. Matt has a passion for recruiting people into the care industry because it can be an amazingly rewarding job. Matt feels working his way up to his current role has massively benefitted him as he can take from personal experiences in his previous roles when speaking to new applicants about how amazing and rewarding a career in care can be. In Matt's spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and going on days out.
