We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Beth to Community Care Manager at Bluebird Care Peterborough & Oundle! Beth’s journey in care has been driven by compassion, dedication, and a genuine desire to make a difference in people’s lives.
Why Beth chose a career in care
Beth’s path into care began with a deeply personal experience. “I left school at 18 with the prospect of going to university to study nursing,” she explains. “However, my grandad was terminally ill with bone cancer. When I told him about university, he asked me to stay with him. The day I was meant to start university was the day he died. I knew then that I needed to remain at home.”
Her career initially specialised in Prader-Willi Syndrome for three years. Inspired by her older cousin, who has Down’s Syndrome, Beth recognised a gap in awareness around learning disabilities and wanted to make a difference. “Since stepping into the care world, I found a love for elderly care, and I’ve loved it ever since,” she says.
What Beth loves about working in care
Beth thrives on the impact she has on the people she supports. “The thing I most like about working in care is that individuals genuinely appreciate what we do for them. I enjoy making a difference and knowing that I have had a positive impact on their day,” she explains.
Beth’s new role as Community Care Manager
In her new role, Beth will ensure that our care experts are meeting Bluebird Care’s high standards when delivering care to our customers. She will also monitor customer satisfaction and provide support to our carers in the field, helping them to continue delivering exceptional, person-centred care.
A little about Beth
Outside of work, Beth enjoys spending time at home with her boyfriend, Greg, and their Sheltie, Daisy. Greg is a firefighter, and together they share a passion for caring for others in their community. Beth is also a fan of true crime documentaries and a long-time music lover — she’s been a fan of McFly since she was ten and is excited to see them live alongside Busted soon!
Beth’s promotion is a testament to her dedication, compassion, and leadership in care. We are delighted to have her stepping into this role and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will continue to make for our customers and care team alike.
