Bridging the Dementia Divide – Derby University
Our Team Participates in University of Derby’s “Bridging the Dementia Divide” Programme
We are proud to announce that members of our team are currently participating in the Bridging the Dementia Divide programme offered by the University of Derby.
This course was developed by David Robertshaw, a dementia care specialist and researcher at the University, as part of a six-year research initiative aimed at enhancing dementia care and education.
The course is designed to deepen understanding of dementia, challenge stereotypes, and promote compassionate support for those living with the condition. It emphasizes integrative collaboration and partnership working to reduce barriers between services and provide seamless care.
Dementia is a central focus of our care philosophy, and we believe that engaging with this programme will enhance our ability to support individuals with dementia and their families within our community. By participating, our team members are gaining valuable insights into the lived experiences of those affected by dementia, as well as strategies to combat social isolation and stigma.
Looking ahead, we are committed to expanding our internal training on dementia care throughout 2025, ensuring that all our care experts are equipped with the knowledge and empathy needed to provide exceptional support.
