24 hour bike rideBluebird Care Redbridge, Epping and Harlow Raises Over £450 for Alzheimer’s Society with 24-Hour Charity Bike Ride

Team members from local home care provider Bluebird Care Redbridge, Epping and Harlow, have completed a gruelling 24-hour charity bike ride, raising £465 for Alzheimer’s Society. The home care team, including Care Experts, Directors and Managers, took turns cycling on an exercise bike, clocking up an impressive 474.53 kilometres in total.

The event was held at the Bluebird Care Redbridge, Epping and Harlow office, with the team cycling throughout the day and night to raise money and awareness for dementia care and research.

The fundraising efforts are a valuable contribution to Bluebird Care’s network-wide initiative to raise £50,000 for Alzheimer’s Society this year.

The bike ride was a true community effort, with local team members rallying around to support each other, and snacking on cold pizza and Pringles for fuel at 3 AM. Colleagues from other Bluebird Care offices also joined in, and donations poured in from family, friends, and customers. The team is already planning their next fundraising activity and hopes to continue raising awareness for Alzheimer’s Society throughout the year.

Natasha Schneider, Senior Group Manager and Safeguarding Lead at Bluebird Care, praised the team’s efforts:

“The Bluebird Care Redbridge, Epping and Harlow team rode non-stop for 24 hours to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society. We had everyone hopping on the bike – although one of the Directors did spend a bit longer cycling than the other! There was a great atmosphere, with games keeping everyone’s spirits up. We can’t thank everyone enough for their support. From sharing the JustGiving page to donating, every contribution helps Alzheimer’s Society in the vital work they do for people living with dementia.”

One of Bluebird Care’s Office Managers Megan who participated in the ride, shared her thoughts on the event:

“It was exhausting but so rewarding. Knowing that we were doing this for such an important cause kept us motivated through the night. With the work we do day-in and day-out, raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society is something that’s very close to my heart. The team spirit was amazing – we all cheered each other on, and by the end, we felt really proud of what we’d achieved together.”
