Bringing Care Closer to Home with the Bluebird Care Assist

At Bluebird Care, we believe that high-quality care should be personal, proactive, and empowering. That’s why we’re proud to be using the Bluebird Care Assist Box in our customers’ homes.

The Blue Box is part of our enhanced community health initiative, designed to help customers stay informed about their wellbeing between GP visits. Whether it’s a routine check-up or a quick conversation about changes in health, our care assistants are trained to make the process simple, comfortable, and dignified.

What is the Bluebird Care Assist Box?

Our Blue Box contains everything needed to carry out basic health observations in the comfort of your home, including a thermometer, blood pressure monitor, pulse oximeter and NHS NEWS2 observation tools. These help us track important signs of health and spot early indicators of potential issues such as infections, dehydration, or respiratory decline.

By catching changes early, we can alert healthcare professionals quickly, prevent hospital admissions, and support better long-term health outcomes.

Here’s what’s inside the Blue Box:

  • Thermometer – Monitors body temperature, a key sign of infection
  • Blood Pressure Monitor – Detects fluctuations that can impact heart health
  • Pulse Oximeter – Measures oxygen saturation, important for lung conditions
  • NEWS2 Chart – A nationally used NHS tool to track deterioration over time

Carers You Can Trust

Our care team is fully trained to use the Blue Box safely and accurately. They receive instruction in taking and interpreting readings, using the NHS-aligned NEWS2 scoring system to guide decisions and escalate concerns when needed.

Importantly, this service never replaces medical advice, but it bridges the gap between health and social care, offering reassurance and an extra layer of safety.
