At Bluebird Care Taunton, Tiverton and Wellington, we’re passionate about supporting not just the physical wellbeing of those we care for, but also their emotional and social health. That’s why we were so proud to host our recent ‘Mind and Motion’ community event on 27th October 2025 at the Kings Arms Community Hub in Wellington, Somerset.
The event brought local people together for a morning of creativity, conversation, and companionship — all while enjoying plenty of tea, biscuits, and laughter.
A Morning of Creativity and Connection
Participants spent the morning crafting, painting, flower arranging, and chatting with new friends. These simple, hands-on activities weren’t just fun - they also encouraged fine motor skills and hand dexterity, which are vital for maintaining independence and confidence later in life.
Our team saw smiles, stories, and plenty of new friendships forming, showing just how powerful creative activities can be in keeping both the mind and body active.
Why Events Like This Matter
For many older people in Taunton, Tiverton, and Wellington, loneliness and isolation are real challenges that affect both emotional and physical health. At Bluebird Care, we understand that companionship and social connection are just as important as personal care.
That’s why we support initiatives like Mind and Motion - because staying socially active can have a huge positive impact on overall wellbeing. Whether someone receives live-in care or visiting care, having opportunities to connect with others and express creativity is essential for maintaining a happy, healthy life.
