Bluebird Care Dementia Care

Bluebird Care in partnership with Alzheimer's Society

Dementia help at home from Bluebird Care dementia care specialists

Bluebird Care are official partners with Alzheimer's Society, working together to support people living with dementia.   Our Wandsworth office offers dementia help at home throughout Wandsworth including Putney, Balham, Battersea, Southfields and Tooting.

As the UK’s dementia home care specialists with approximately 60% of our customers living with the condition, we share an ambition to change the lives of those living with dementia, and their families.

A diagnosis of dementia is life changing and as the disease progresses, things can become increasingly challenging for the person concerned as well as those who support them.

Whilst remaining at home, surrounded by everything that’s familiar and important is preferable for most of us, for those with dementia it’s crucial as the upheaval of moving can increase trauma and exacerbate symptoms.  You may believe - wrongly - that your only choice is a residential care home or nursing home.  We know that the right dementia care delivered in the person's own home can be positively life changing.

Bluebird Care dementia help at home - We’ve been successfully caring for people with all kinds of memory conditions in their own homes for many years.

“At least I've now got one less thing to worry about in that Bluebird are looking after Mum and she seems so much better. The Alzheimer's is not going to improve, but her physical health has improved a lot, thanks to Mary and her elves!”

Our dementia services including companionship, live-in care, night care, home care and respite and we will work together to find the solution that suits you best, adapting and adjusting the support as needed.

Our care and support in all aspects of day-to-day living can make all the difference as the physical and cognitive changes of the condition progress.  Our highly trained team are continually improving their knowledge and skills so that we can fully tailor our support.  Working closely alongside other experts and healthcare professionals, we do all we can to maintain independence for as long as possible.

Initially, a couple of visits a day to provide a little assistance and companion care may be all that’s needed to continue living at home.  As the condition progresses, live-in care is a low stress, cost effective way to make sure that the person affected can continue to live as and where they want, for as long as they want, even to the end of life without needing either residential care homes or nursing homes.

"When I called initially, it was because mum wasn’t receiving good care and in fact, she kept on turning the carers away because she didn’t like them.  What a difference!  Eva is so patient and firm with mum and mum is so fond of her, you can see she really enjoys her company.  In fact, she often takes more notice of her than she does of me.  Typical!  I honestly don’t know what I would have done if I’d been on my own."
