On Saturday, May 25th, members of the Bluebird Care York team took on the Trek26 challenge in the North York Moors to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s Society. The event, which saw participants walk a challenging 26-mile route through stunning landscapes, aimed to support those affected by dementia and fund vital research.
Among the dedicated participants were Hattie Jobson and Laura Ogley, who successfully completed the long-distance walk while raising £250 in sponsorship.
Reflecting on the experience, Laura said:
"On Saturday, the 25th of May, Hattie Jobson and I completed the 26-mile walk to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s, raising £250 in sponsorship. We both want to thank everyone who sponsored and supported us; we had an amazing day filled with some inspiring people." - Laura Ogley
The Trek26 series is a nationwide fundraising effort that encourages individuals and teams to challenge themselves while making a meaningful impact. With dementia affecting thousands of families across the UK, events like these play a crucial role in funding support services and research for a cure.
Bluebird Care York continues to champion initiatives that support those living with dementia, reinforcing its commitment to compassionate care in the community.
For those who wish to support the cause, donations can still be made through the Alzheimer’s Society website.
