Complex care could include care for a long-term medical condition such as muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, brain damage, learning disability or a temporary condition caused by a brain or spinal injury, disease, or recovery after surgery.

Our Clinical Nurse Lead, Abbey
Abbey Ford joined Bluebird Care in August 2023, bringing a wealth of nursing experience to her role as Clinical Nurse Lead. With a career that began at just 15 years old as a carer, Abbey later pursued a BSc in Adult Nursing at Teesside University. She gained extensive experience working in intensive care units across the UK before moving to Australia, where she took on the roles of Sister and Night Manager in intensive care. Upon returning to the UK, Abbey joined Bluebird Care, attracted by the work-life balance the company offers compared to the NHS. In her current role, Abbey’s key responsibilities include developing and delivering complex care training for staff, creating tailored care plans and risk assessments, and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals to ensure outstanding care. She finds the greatest reward in seeing customers thrive safely at home, particularly those with complex needs who previously required hospital care.
Was very impressed with the website for Bluebird Care and the CQC rating of Outstanding which is what made me contact them initially. I can only say they actually exceeded my expectations. All the staff I have spoken to are so helpful and understanding and a meeting was set up within days of my first phone call

Hospitals can be very distressing for those who with complex needs. The busy environment can cause anxiety and being in a unfamiliar environment is an added stress that you or a loved one does not need, added onto the demand for specialist care.
That's why we believe that complex care at home is a vital alternative that allows customers to receive the support they need while remaining in the comfort of their own home.
